Where did you get that three pickup toggle with with the extra lug? I've been thinking of adding a middle pickup to one of my Explorers for a while now with a bridge/bridge+middle/neck switching configuration but can't seem to find that particular switch any where.

I have a similar Mexican-made Telecaster, which started out as sunburst but is now red. I used a belt sander to make the contours. The body is poplar (not basswood), and veneered with maple.

Is there a way to wire a killswitch to where it won't pop?

Hey great video. I have a question. What do you do if the holes on your fretboard are drilled all the way through the fretboard and there is no "floor" to drip the glue?

I was looking to wire this so that when i press the button the led turns on and when the button is not pressed. Is that a possibility?

I use a small Dewalt battery powered angle grinder with 5” 80 & 120 grit disks. I have access to a commercial band saw and lots of other woodworking equipment but I’ve found that using the angle grinder is best. It cuts very clean and fast up to a tape line. On the first Telecaster body I contoured I retained the original finish as here which was undamaged by my grinding and sanding. The transition between the original finish and the contouring job was very neat without any chipped paint. I stained and shot clear poly on the new exposed contoured areas. Very easy to do. Ive done several bodies now. I like your credit card trick for the required hand sanding.

Johnny, thanks so much, man! I have a Tele and I want to add a middle pickup (humbucker) and keep the 3 way switch. Now I know how to set it up to have either just a N, M or B selection. I don't want a Strat set up nor a Nashville Tele setup, and I am hoping it will work with phasing, etc. But thanks for being clear and explaining like you did - I finally get it! I owe you a beer, dude!

hello? I am someone who watched the video and was thinking about trying it myself. However, is it okay to do the arm rest and belly cut contour work as above on the telecaster thinline model? I am worried that holes may be created in the thinline model while working on the contour.

I cannot find a fat steel block anywhere?? Brass sounds great but sometimes I feel it takes a little bit of the bite out of it?

Maybe some sort of concession to NZ would change his mind, perhaps you could do an interview/studio tour where he can explain his position and if all goes well, he would let you poor through his proof sheets (of cringe glam shots and awkward spontaneity ) for out takes containing good shots of the Frankenstrat.
